You bet I will. Thumbs Up Very Happy

Can't wait to get everything sorted and then I plan to do a trip up to Scotland/Highlands and spend a couple of days riding some roads up there. Will do the same in Wales too and probably Yorkshire. As well as a few day trips here and there.

Cheers Matt,

It is. Wub

Can't believe how comfortable it is either. As much as I had many great times on the R125, it did turn into an endurance test on longer journeys. Laughing

The seat does look rather inviting.
How is the leg room compared to the R125?

Aye, the seat is well padded and as for the legroom, compared to the R125 it's much more a comfortable position for a start and Im 6"2' with my legs making up a fair proportion of my height and I have no issues at all on the ER6F.

I think its a genuine achievement you managed to do what you did on that R125 to be honest Laughing. I had a laugh on mine too but I wouldn't of even contemplated using it for some of the rides you managed to do on yours Shocked.

chickenstrip summed it up nicely I think Razz.

Yeah, I was really suffering towards the end of that tour of Ireland tour we did tbh, covering 1200 miles from home and back again in those few days was a little too much on a bike like that but, as you say, it was an achievement. Laughing I couldn't even so much as look at the bike for about a week afterwards though. Laughing

And yes, chicken strip got it spot on Thumbs Up

Got out on mine yesterday for about an hour and a half, managed to de chicken strip the O/S of the 65mile old rear tyre.
Roundabout I presume, need to try a bit harder on the N/S. Have about 10mm untouched rubber on that side. But I know
just the bend to fix that. Next time.... Thumbs Up

I managed to snap my number plate off while backing it out of the back yard into the alley. Doh! Embarassed Nothing too bad, just one of the little plastic blots that hold it on snapped, so need to sort that out.

Still need to get used to how sensitive that throttle is too. Laughing

You need lots of extra clutchwork with these in low gears or they can be snatchy. Plenty torque, low weight and FI contribute to
that. Mine had a dead spot on the twistgrip before the throttle opened. Some cable adjustment there removed that,
making the throttle far more responsive and instant. It really helped with the snatchiness. BTW It feels 10x worse
when the chain needs some adjustment.

Stompgrip or similar really helps with these too, I found the tank to slippy to grip. I usually wear leathers so Stompgrip
suits me but Eazi Grip is similar, MUCH cheaper and won't feel scratchy in kevlar jeans like stompgrip does as I've found.
I'll be using that next time, the 2 pre cut bits of stompgrip on mine cost me 42 quid.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=easi+grip&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xeazi+grip.TRS0&_nkw=eazi+grip&_sacat=0

When looking for trick bits don't forget to search Ninja 650 as well. There's a few different bits and pieces for
these available over the pond.

Good stuff Dave. First thing on your list should be some luggage though. EuroJolly with that monster of a backpack on would be a killer.

Cheers. Thumbs Up

Waterproof luggage would be even better. Thumbs Up Laughing

I've been looking at some hard pannier cases but, they're pretty expensive. Hoping to find a fleabay bargain before the next EuroJolly.

The new bike's so much more comfortable than the R125 BTW. Mr. Green

The Kriega US30 has the EuroJolly seal of approval. Anything other than this has to go through rigorous testing before the trip (testing comprises throwing said luggage in the bin and replacing it with a US30).

Dave, you have to go with a US30. Don't waste your money on hard luggage that spoils the look of your bike and leaves ugly framework when it's removed. US30 is 100% waterproof and nothing comes close to the quality of it. Thumbs Up

Eurojollys require ownership of a US30 and the bike to be shod in Michelin PR3s or the cool kids choice of 2CTs Thumbs Up

I had a look at the US30 after Monty suggested it. Looks a good option tbh and a hell of a lot cheaper than other options I've looked at so far.

All the reviews give it top marks too. So yeah, I'll probably join the US30 club as well.

As for tyres, the stock ones on the bike seem okay tbh, not that I've really tested them out yet though. Whistle Haven't looked at what they are though but, I agree that there are no doubt better ones out there but, I feel no need to change them until they're worn. Unlike the terrible Michelin ones that came on the R125, which I immediately got rid of.

If it's the same as mine then the stock tyres will be Roadsmart 2's.
Apparently a dual compound tyre.
https://www.dunlopmotorcycle.eu/dunlop_euen/mc/tyres/on_road/Sportmax_Roadsmart_II.jsp

I suppose they may be using the Roadsmart 3's on a bike a couple years later than mine.

Cool. Thumbs Up

I'll no doubt be heading up your way at some point this summer. Some nice roads up that neck of the woods, so will give you a shout.

Similarly, if you're ever down these parts or fancy another ride out in Wales, let me know. Thumbs Up
