"Never ridden a motorbike"-style stall, fumble and horn beep about a minute in. Instant sodding fail. I didn't think I was that nervous but my hands temporarily thought they were flippers or something.

Plus an obs error later on when easing out past badly parked van at a junction, another fail.

Went pretty well apart from that Laughing

Rebooked...

Into every life a little flipperhands must fall.

Nerves dealt with, you can ace it next time.

Can we just discuss that I'm reading that you instantly failed due to stalling the bike? My examiner said it wasn't really an issue and it happens, as I recall I stalled at one point on one of my tests (I think). I'd say stalling is ok but how you pick it up and react afterwards is what counts rather than full melt down "OMG WUT DO NOW?" mode, not saying you did but you get the point.

So yeah, how exactly was you instant fail explained and what exactly happened. Stall at a junction etc?

We can indeed.

Tester's mic was cutting out when we were barely out of the test centre so I pulled over maybe 20 yards from a roundabout (no probs yet). He put a new cable on which took a couple of minutes. Told me to pull away and turn right at the roundabout at which point I just fudged up completely, couldn't find clutch biting point, beeped horn instead of indicating, used a selection of gears including neutral, then stalled and blocked the road causing the car behind to cross lanes to overtake. The "Serious" tick on the test report is under Control - Gears.

Other fail was Junctions - Observation, when pulling out past an illegally parked van.

So... neither were my fault then Laughing

It was exactly 9.11am when I set off from the bike school. Coincidence? I don't think so...

Unlucky. I stalled right outside of the test centre. Restarted and got on with it. Just got a minor for it and a pass.

Good luck for next time.
