No.

you cannot ride anything bigger than 125 (nor a 125 thats been bored out)
and you cannot ride anything bigger than 14.6bhp regardless of capacity.

You can do. But you need to do your restricted test which will allow you to ride any cc sized bike as long as it is producing less than 33bhp. Pretty much any bike can be restricted to 33bhp, and after two years from when you passed your test you're allowed to ride any bike. Thumbs Up

now, thats not exactly riding a 185 on L's now is it?

take your test and you can ride ANY capacity, so long as its <33bhp

I got the message from how his thread is writte then he wants to know "If i can ride a 30bhp 125 on L plates, can i ride something with a bigger engine, even if its that bit less powerful?"

To which the answer is, that is must be 125 AND 14.6 bhp, any more of either and you are riding without a liecence.

Aged 17 i recommend you get a few months expirence then do your test! that way you can be riding a full power bike by 19, rather than having to wait till your 21.

Oh yeah, read the question wrong.

Yeah, as Frosty One says riding a 125cc bike with a big bore kit fitted is not allowed with a CBT. Fitting a big bore kit is changing the engine size and it is no longer classed as a 125cc. If you ride with one you are riding without a license and without insurance. Low rick of being caught but if you did get caught then you'd be likely to get very fucked over. Not really any different to riding on a 33bhp a bike where the restrictors have fallen out, which I have done myself and lots of others do and have never had any problems, bu the potential is there and it would be more than slightly fucked if you got caught. Only likely to get caught in the event of an insurance claim as they'll do their best to find anyway out of not having to pay out.

So do it if you want to, quite a lot of other people do, but be aware of the risks and the possible consequences before you do it. Thumbs Up
