Well as #46 was crossing the finish line yesterday I noticed a neighbour(idiot) come arseing down the road,
as he tried to reverse he hit, with some force, my run around sat on the drive and then took off,
I had words later and until he saw the CCTV he was calling me a liar ( a Fing one at that)
So here is the footage, Ive had to contact insurance as its made a bit of a mess of the bumper,
Police next, as I need a collision number or something as he left without giving his details,

any input / comments, I know I will get shafted by the insurance,

Damage is dent, scrape, flat faced bumper, that doesnt line up, no other damage as I can see,
local body shop have said it needs a bumper.

Admitted it and promised to drop his details off last night, the L200 and trailer then disappeared, bear in mind they have both been parked on the street for the last 2 years, so he hid the pick up at the back of a local garage.

He took it to get an MOT, which it passed today, the previous one having expired on April the 9th.

I'd be sure to mention that to the rozzers, since he wasn't man enough to admit it and offer to fix his mistake.

Oh, and to his insurance too. They'll still have to pay out to you, but it may be a condition of his cover, so they'll be able to recover it from him.

Well the quote is in, £487 to replace a front bumper etc,

CCTV is a old Swann system, with that footage from a Swann PRO-750,
ok camera if you have some background lighting at night, as they dont come with IR led for nights,
I got a pair of these and 2 bullet style, the bullets come with built in IR, but on the rear which has the other PTZ camera I had to add a IR illuminator in a dome, cheap and easy but is literally night and day at night.

Oh have I missed a step, he was reported, had to go to a "Police Station" I didn't know they still existed,

So they took all the details, I obviously asked about the MOT and how it may effect my claim, would he be classed as no insurance due to it,
they wouldn`t say if honest,
anyway all reported for failing to stop, I now have to wait for a local bobby to call, its been handed to section Sgt for my area, so I'm waiting for that contact,

She did view the CCTV and wonder why he wouldn't feel it,
but that is all she would say,
they gave me a Collision Reference Number which I had to send to the Insurance.

Is he also being charged with "Criminal inability to reverse a trailer"?

To be objective, given the (criminal) angle that the trailer reached relative to the car it is unlikely that much of the force of the bump was transmitted through to the car and thence to its driver. Throw in a loud stereo or a robust ongoing phone call, how is the poor driver meant to know what they have done?

When I was side swiped off the road while cycling the police suggested that the driver wouldn't have even realised that they'd hit me and that's why they didn't stop. FFS!
I was on a roundabout, they moved across and body checked me with the side of their Citroen. There was a loud thud and I was shouting at them. And there's plod making excuses for them while I'm being strapped to a spinal board. Fcking cnt.
I've no doubt that in most cases of hit and run the hitter will tell plod they have no idea that it ever occurred, oh so terribly sorry, here's insurance, thanks for not doing anything else, bye now. It's no wonder people drive off.
/Rant.

I dont believe as a car driver that you wouldn`t know, u hear tiny stones ping, I reverse up that drive and there is a old track car parked at the top, I know when ive hit that, at that`s at crawling speed,
as he reverses all 3 move when he hits, the pick up and trailer stop and the car rocks, the fact both stop and he hasnt got his foot on the brakes would make any sober driver wonder why he had stopped,
he has also driven down the cul de sac so seen the car there, it hasnt appeared after he has driven in, stopped and selected reverse, it was always there, also why even try and reverse there, the road is clear so he has all the way back to my garages to go,

he had driven down and reversed many times on Sunday and he even saw me washing the cars earlier,
Id only popped in for the MOTO GP, as I was going to give it a quick polish and wax later.

Just a small update,I have rang 101 to ask about contact, I was told the officer is off for 4 days after tonight, so it may be a while until I hear back,
The third party`s Insurance has written to me, told me they want to deal with everything, and to tell my insurance I want nothing from them,

Not sure what to do now as I have already spoke to the Loss recovery company, who told me not to accept anything from my own under writer, this is all very confusing . . .

Being fair the choice of cars to run around in seems pretty good.

I'd give the 3rd party insurer one chance to sort everything out. It's in their interests to do so quickly.
