Water! Water! Water! Gibsmeeeedaaaaaat!

To be fair, Cockneys have always been vicious thieving scum mad love regardless of ethnicity, but... explain to me again how giving the feckless free money prevents them from just taking free stuff whenever they want.

That looks like poor judgment on the planners part.
Deptford has a rich/poor divide and they decided to put a water station right in the middle of a ghetto estate...

There is a cracker minority getting stuck in too. I think it's more of a welfare state issue, although it's fair to ask who the major beneficiaries of that are.

But... it's water. Their free flats all have taps, right?

I'm guessing No Further Action, because Community Relations.

I'm just wondering how low your life has to get before you steal something that you get free anyhow, just because it's in a bottle.

It's not like it has any realistic sell on value, so they will presumably drink it. Anyone over the next couple of weeks in Deptford that is walking around with a Buxton bottle will be squinted and be subjected to some head shaking. I doubt Buxton will sell any bottles in that area for a while for this reason alone.

I think it's a sad reflection on these peoples lives, when I first saw the video on facebook, I thought it was an aid handout in a war torn state.

Yeah, a ghetto estate where most people who work for a living couldn't even afford the rent.

When I first commuted to London, 2 work colleagues shared a sh1tty flat in a scummy area of Deptford. The rent was over a grand a week.

This was 15 years ago! Rolling Eyes

Dont get me started on this economic fiasco...

The government sell all of their housing stock, that ends up on buy to let landlords portfolios and now the government are paying 3x the cost of owning them in housing benefit payments. Now the places are full of people that don't give a fuck about their properties or social surroundings.

Ah, but they then screwed landlords over too by paying the money-money-money direct to the claimants, and therefore down their throat or up their veins.

There are now billboards up all over the place near me saying "YOU CAN'T OPT OUT OF PAYING RENT Mad "

Oh, wait, they meant paying council rent. As you were. Whistle

Getting them hooked on that 99% pure dihydrogen monoxide, they'll never kick that habit.

and these too...

I worked out of a builders yard in Tottenham for 5 years before moving to the West country. No different to Deptford
apart from what side of the water it's on. A truly depressing place to work. If more than 5 minutes passes without
hearing a siren then you're doing well. Same would have happened there if the Marathon passed that way.
Nothing would surprise me in areas like that.

I don't know what planet you're on, but you do pay for water. Perhaps you still live with your parents, so don't see the bills?

Nonetheless, is this before, during, or after the race? If after, have they been told they can take it?

If not, they're gypo scumbags.

They are on benefits, do you really think they pay bills?

I left home when I was 19 and am in my 40's now, I know what a bill looks like, thanks for your concern though.

It seems it was early afternoon and well before the end of the race, so yes it was stealing.

That's good, because when I was a Doley the bills didn't magically disappear. Perhaps I was doing it wrong.

They get 'free' money to pay for bills. Water comes from a tap that companies are not allowed to cut off, regardless of the unpaid bill amount.
They know this and quite often never pay with the 'free' money they get.

Very few people pay for metered water. You turn a tap, infinite water comes out. You have to actually get up and go out in order to steal some, which I guess does speak to some sort of "work" ethic.

It's not like the government is slipping contraceptives into the water supply to sterilise proles, although now that I think about it... Thinking

Feels good man to have a borehole. Even the leccy used to pump it out comes from solar panels. Obviously there was the capital costs, but it's about as close to "free" water as most people get.

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner...

London is such a wonderful place, full of it's chirpy cockneys. I bet it'll be even lovelier when there is an economic collapse and the gibsmedat welfare system runs dry.

It'll probably get sold on, to gullible tourists in the heat of Summer at a quid a pop or more. Street trading is easy when you get your stock for free, courtesy of some stupid cracker shit.
