Back in the 60's I had a pair of leather motorcycle gloves that had a fold away waterproof over glove attached inside a little pocket on the cuff, they were great, I was wondering if anybody has come across anything similar, I have googled and googled to no avail.

Technology has come on quite a bit since then, now you get gloves with a built in gore tex membrane so no need to fuck about with an overglove.

Buy better gloves, I've had my HG ones at least 5 years now, I commute and use them daily in winter and they are still fully waterproof.

And overglove sounds like a shit idea TBH, it must affect your control having a barely attached non grippy layer between you and the bike.

My HG ones were fine for commuting.
But longer rides in the rain the wet did get through eventually.
Same with expensive A* ones.

In the end, it's equivalent to getting a pressure washer or similar that outputs at 70mph+ and pointing it directly at leather with stitched seams continuously for hour(s) at a time.
Not surprising some gets through.

I'd always go for "get muffs", which stop rain and keep your hands warmer etc.

I have good gloves but after a 45 mile journey in the rain, they start to let water in, the pull over covers I had in the old days kept my gloves bone dry, you just unzipped the pouch and pulled the cover out and over could be done without taking gloves off

What about those held gloves with two pockets for your hand? Ones vented for summer, the other is a goretex liner...

I'll find it in a mo!

Winter gloves - I think you'll be troubled to beat the Rich Cold Protect for waterproofness.

For summer gloves you'll struggle to find one that is truly waterproof on long rides. I tend to use the British Army cold weather over-mitt which seems to do the trick if its really pissing hard.
