Bought from a triumph dealership.

£3555 delivered from like 100+ miles away to London by Triumph dealership.

2007 model, awesome condition, 2k mileage, and one owner.

Thoughts?

Whilst it has very low mileage and is tidy it's still a 400cc nearly 10 year old motorcycle, 3.5k seems very steep but I don't know the market.

£3.5k is about on the money for a late model DRZ SM in that condition.

Looks nice and tidy. Don't festoon it with tat!

Funny how the market changes. I paid 4k for a year old '08 Drz in 2009 with similar low mileage. Laughing

Is anything similar still available? Because the prices people are paying for these things, there's clearly a demand.

That's what I thought as well, but these bikes are quite rare, there's only like 7-8 total on autotrader in the whole country, plus the fact that they're discontinued in the UK afaik. This is the perfect bike for me and bang on the a2, no restriction needed. Will keep it till I pass full A and get a bigger bike. I'm downgrading from a Bandit 600, which weighs a ton and is quite hard to control. Need a bike if I ever need to go into central london, which is pretty much unaccessible by car.

Thanks! Very Happy

Plus they usually charge £250 for delivery which is included, so got a good deal imo.

Nice!

How much did/do you love your DRZ it on a scale of 1-10? Never been on one before.

Not with that kind of mileage. There's not many available, probably why they're so pricey.

This was the only other one that I really found. The guy wanted 2.6k minimum, it was on finance, he said I should come and pay off the finance directly and take the bike, 7000 more mileage and some damage, plus i'd have to add in collection/delivery costs. Thought the dealer option would be the best.

They're great bikes! It was my First "Big" bike after passing my test at 17.

Unfortunately I thought I was gods gift on a bike and this happened;

inb4 subframes twisted/chains slack

This exact model is still available in North America and Australia/NZ. For example: https://www.suzuki.ca/?q=en/node/3498

Not in Europe presumably because they didn't want to redevelop it to meet Emissions regulations.

Probably the nearest thing new is the KTM 690 SMC R. Quicker and newer, but it's £8k.

You could buy a 450cc MX machine from Honda/Kwak/Suzuki/Yam/KTM, fit SM wheels, and (possibly?) register it. But that would be expensive and very high maintenance.

At 17? must of been before the new license stuff I assume.

Ouch, glad you walked away fine though Razz
Probably were doing wheelies and so on weren't you?
I'm a tad more sensible than that and hope I stay sensible, once I start riding this bike aha.

Wondered the same. WK had a 450 supermoto. Strange particularly as Suzuki often have to give their bikes away with Frosties, yet they have a bike there's actually a demand for.

Also wonder why Honda don't still make a learner legal off-road type bike, seeing as XR's are holding/increasing in value.

A little under 1200 according to how many left. Most of the bikes I want are down to a dozen or so Sad

Also a ton? The weight of a Bandit can only be compared to celestial objects Wink

I'm never selling mine, I hope to swap it for a house at some stage, the prices for them only ever seem to go up.

In 2010 I got this one:

https://i.imgur.com/ONjOzwU.jpg

~3,500 miles, Arrow exhaust - £2,000. Had it for 2 years and sold it. Was a good bike but totally standard and quite slow.

https://i.imgur.com/saIlvkf.jpg

This is the one I got 2 years ago now, I love them personally Wub This one in particular had 691 miles on it (not a typo), full MRD system & a new FCR39MX carb for £3k. Plus lots of spares, and about 3 seats for some reason. I've done quite a bit to it now, standard they are sluggish but after the FCR, cams & decent exhaust it is a new bike. Should be around 42bhp in this set up, 32 standard. Extremely easy to work on, endless amount of mods and after market parts. Ultra reliable, simple machine.

https://i.imgur.com/cCLxJYK.jpg

As with any SM as long as you are on the right roads you will love it. Motorways and long A roads you will hate it. Single tracks especially, of which there are loads and loads near me. Hexham, Cumbria, Yorkshire Dales etc. all close by. Endless fun.

Nowt really like them about, 690 is nothing like it, I owned one of them too, and looking into getting another one of them Shocked

One of my mates has a mad DRZ 462. He's done just about every mod possible, except the longer 5th gear mod & a kick start I suppose.

I paid £2k for a three year old CCM404e with both sets of wheels in 2007.
Better spec all around; ok it did end up having engine problems - but that was the big end going and it uses the engine from the DRZ.
There's a CCM404DS on ebay at the moment for £2k with both sets of wheels - only a paltry 3 hours away from you 'borg!
440 kit so it should be pretty perky - whether that's a good thing or not is another matter!

Oh and ...

Never seen the point in doing loads to them - why not just get a proper supermoto that weighs less and makes more power in the first place?

But yes; on the 690- there's a 690SMC on ebay asking £4k right now from a dealer. Seen them go for less. Would definitely go for a SMC over a DRZ at this kinda price range.

Like it but 3.5k is far too much imo.

Needs an exhaust, 3x3 and wheelies.

Nice un-molested bike but seems quite expensive, I paid a pinch under 2k for mine with both sets of wheels and a few spares.

First thing I'd do to that is get rid of that fugly rear end and stick a new exhaust on.

Must of been a good few years back. Prices have gone up unfortunately.

Yeah going to get an exhaust (maybe danmoto one, seems cheap and loud lol), carbon handguards, led indicators. The topbox rack thingy and probably take off all the stickers too. + want to get a smaller numberplate! Thumbs Up

Oh; not sure if it's compatible with your frame, but think I still have a full system from the CCM404e for sale Smile.

He's had it since new in 2008 so the mods just piled up over the years. Has about 40,000 miles on the frame Thumbs Up That alone is why Laughing Weight is around 120 - 125kg, power is 50bhp+ and still does 60MPG with decent tank range. Not a track bike so why bother with a proper supermoto with a 60 mile fuel range that would need a full service after a day out.

No, last year... There's deals out there if you look hard enough. Sorry if that's rubbing salt in the wounds.

Get a DRC Edge 2 tail tidy unless you can be bothered making one yourself. I got an FMF full silencer and power bomb downpipe for £75 about 2 months ago, so be patient and you will find some good deals.

It's not rubbing salt in the wounds, there's a lot of variables when it comes to bikes. You probably bought yours private. A year is still a year, combined with the fact that summers coming up shortly. Think I didn't do too bad, my wallets empty now, which is the only thing i'm upset about now Razz

DRC edge 2 looks nice, will defo be going for that.
Thanks for that info, will keep a lookout.

A friend did have one as his first bike and I always liked to ride it and I would have one in the garage for pissing around with if they were more reasonable.

Listed at £4000, they sold a whopping 45 before giving up on it, which is actually pretty good going for a >125cc Chinese bike.

The engine making 2/3rd the power or so of the CRF; nope.
But if it was appropriately reliable to make up for that - of more interest.

Oh and - if "not a track bike so why bother", thwn might as well just get an SV Wink.
