Hi guys, we have just bought this bike only 3 weeks ago and unfortunately it keeps breaking down. I have removed the fuel vacuum valve from the tank and proved the fuel flow by sucking on the pipe from the carb, I also have checked out the filter on the valve which was found to be in good order. I have also removed the carb which has been cleaned in petroleum and taken out the jets which I have cleaned with carb cleaner. This seems to cure the problem for a day or so but then it will break down again, on this happening the first thing I go for is the drain screw on the carb and the fuel is present, is there a intermittent fault with the fuel valve or the auto choke?

Street Fighter II huh? Have you tried to use Hadouken?

Anyway, I'd say the problem is in the fuel. Water and/or dirt in petrol could cause what you've described. A electrical problem could also be the culprit. We're gonna need a bit more info on ''it keeps breaking down''.

It's a 2-stroke, right? Are you sure you have oil in the petrol in the right ratio?

I have had the carb off 3 times and changed the fuel, the oil is piped into the crank and not the carb as it was on older Jap bikes. On removing the carbs there was no water or dirt present after cleaning it yesterday the bike then ran for about 3 miles only before breaking down and probably about 10 miles the day before

Are you sure the auxiliary oil pump is working and that the oil is getting to the crank? It could as well be partially seized. I don't quite understand the expression ''breaking down''.

It could also be electrical, sometimes people ruin their battery terminals, which ends up with bad conection whenever they hit a bump on the road, resulting in ''breaking down''.

You say you have petrol in the carburetor, so I assume the tank breather is doing is job just fine.
