Early ZX9R Tyre Pressures?

I was chatting to a friend last night about his newly purchased ZX9R.He reckoned that the tyre pressures should be 42 psi front and rear,which I found unlikely.The tyres were Michelins.

I said that 36 front and maybe 41 rear were more likely to be the correct amount,but he was adament he was right

36/42 seems right

My ZX12 runs 42/42, that's Kawasaki's recommendation, but it has at least 60kg on the ZX9.

I've never even checked the pressures on my zx9r, the rear tyre was replaced for the MOT so I don't know what the pressure was then.... I just do 32psi front and 36psi rear and never had a problem.... but maybe I should start checking the recommended pressures

The ZX7R P1 manual says:
F: 120/70 - 250kPa (36psi)
R: 190/50 - 290kPa (41psi)
