Pet cock on wrong side

Hi-
I am thinking of changing the tank on my CL400 to one from a CB360.
My concern is that the pet cock on the CB tank is on the wrong side.
Obviously i'll need some more hose but does anyone think I'll have problems with air locks etc if I go ahead with this?
The hose might need to run upwards from the cock then down again to the carb fuel inlet.

Any advice appreciated.

On the subject of fuel hose' use Freeline kart racing stuff. Doesn't need those clips to secure it to nipples as it molds to them & doesn't go stiff or crack unlike old gen rubber or silicone crap.
