|
|
Hi, my track bike doesn't have the spring loaded covers that normally go on the top of the calipers to push the brake pads downwards. I've done a few trackdays on it and haven't noticed any difference than normal brakes that have them.
Will a previous owner have removed these for any particular reason? Is it worth buying some for the sake of it, or just leave them?
It's part 6 at the top of the diagram:

They tend not to use them on race callipers.
I had to fit some to my pretec callipers for road use.
All they do is stop the pads rattling. It's a pain in the arse if you're on the road but you'll not notice on the track. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
