Same as happened to Mayland Airlines MH370.

Any guesses that it will be pinned on anything but an Islamic militant group this side of the referendum?

If you think it'll be kept hush because of an EU referendum bias just read international, non-EU based news sources.

Well the Guardian, who are very much a Remain bunch, and the Telegraph, have just said, "Terrorism more likely than technical failure." This is apparently coming from Egyptian officials.

Funny sort of terrorism though. I don't understand why they do it in random airspace. Why not blow it up as it's about to land? Far more terror that way.

And is security really that slack at CDG airport, given everything that's gone on recently?

(Assuming this one has been blown up), i'd guess perhaps because its more guaranteed to kill everyone on board if its at high altitude/over the sea.

Also if its spread over a large area/the sea, then the recovery and investigation will be much harder, meaning it stays in the headlines longer; which they probably want.

Unless it just crashed.. or aliens.

Is this satirical?

You must know that the Brussels airport bombers had been working there on and off for years, and the Belgian police were threatening to boycott providing security there until they'd cleaned up all the many, many potential snackbarristas that are still working there.

I can't imagine that CDG is much better. You don't need martyrs if you just stuff the bomb into the suitcase (hello GCHQ) while it's going through baggage handling, then knock off your shift.

Didn't know that.

Doesn't really point to the security however. Given that pilots and cabin crew have to go through the same entry/exit security process as passengers, I'd like to think the baggage area has similar security in place.

Having said that, it's often not hard to find loopholes once you've been in a job for some time. So, it's a possibility.

Depends who you're employing to do your minimum wage security.

You wouldn't want to be seen to have a discriminatory recruitment policy, would you?

I was thinking more along the lines of detectors, scanners etc that make a noise or whatever, alerting more than just a solo computer operative, if something dodgy is sent through the baggage handling area.

Granted it would still be possible to get a bomb through if you're a smart sciencey type, but how smart and sciencey is your average Jihadi?

Baggage checks.

Also would be possible if the security guy on the Level 3 check is working solo. Lynch mob after the CDG Level 3 security bloke Dance!

The rescue teams in the Mediterranean Sea have already found the first lifeboat, from the vanished Egyptian Airbus a320. All 450 Syrian passengers were saved. Thinking
