this afternoon while enjoying sunshine, welsh roads and my rattling bmw.near llanidloes i did spy an r1 approaching from the rear so i moved to the left and waved a leg to signal him to come past unimpeded.
then his friend on a gsxr 1100 got the same wave past.
then i was passed by another guy on a black kawasaki toury type bike(all paniers and white helmet),he seemed to want to be friends with the other two.so much so that he put on some blue flashing lights to get thier attention.
he then proceeded to stop the 2 guys then me and also 3 other bikes that happened to be on the road at the same time.
video shown horror stories about searhing for arms and legs after a crash etc,at the time he didnt mention that he had a fireblade(i bet he does).
he took all thier licenses and told me i could go because i wasnt one of the group he was following.

tl;dr if it was you how did you get on?

I asked my G/F if she had ever been pulled by the fuzz. She said no but she had been swung by the tits a few times. Embarassed

I was surprised this weekend - I did the Welsh National Rally, so did over 300 miles of North/mid Wales roads on Saturday alone (including the A470) and didn't see a single speed trap. I only saw a couple of Police cars driving along - I expected a Saturday in May to have loads of them out. I didn't do the A5 in Gwynedd, where I do almost always see them on nice days.

They showed a video at the side of the road?! That's not very safe!

When I lived in Wales, honey pot speed traps on busy routes were seen weekly. Riding through the hills on a sunny day was more like a game of where's Wally, with Wally being some castrated slap head hiding in a bush...

I haven't seen any mobile speed traps since leaving two years ago. Guess it helps to live in an area where the lion's share of the economy isn't issuing FPNs to motorists.

I understand they have a duty to ensure peoples safety blah blah blah, but they can never leave you be. As soon as you ride out on country roads theres scamera vans left right and centre, and patrols looking to stop people regardless of wether you have or havent broke the law. Naively i assumed they would only give you a tug should you be riding/driving like a tool, oh how wrong was i!

What reason did they give for pulling you over?

The don't need a reason, as in you were doing something wrong. Section 163-165 of the 1988 Road Traffic Act if you want to check it out.

I mentioned on here in another thread/s. The popo told me the purge is not only road safety bla bla bla but on rural roads the detour to pass an RTA can be a hundred miles or so.
I would be soooo pissed if I had to suffer that shite every other month because some fekless wanker on a petrol buzz lost it on a bend. Very Happy

How exactly do the fuzz pull you over btw?
I've been subject to the ole speed tax, but it was a scamera van.
Do they just sit half out into the middle of a country lane with their hazards on whilst standing behind like one of these...

?

Seems rather dangerous if so.

I think they're meant to follow you with lights/sirens on until you pull over.

At the checkpoints where they randomly pull over every biker, they like to step out into the road to signal you to stop, so you have to be ready for the car in front slamming on their brakes when they think its them.

I've also (briefly) been in a chase, where they shot off past me, then cut across my path to get me to stop. Another time they raced round the block to wait for me.

Anyone would of thought I was black Rolling Eyes
