The Tiles A and B are the same colour.
I find this quite amazing that your brain will correct for you what it expects to see.

It's an optical illusion, both A and B tiles are the same shade.
Your brain disregards this and corrects it.

Even when I cover everything else in the picture, except either the A or B square, they stll look different shades to me.

Then again, I did have trouble differentiating between yellow and blue cones today.

Okay, that's a bit of a mind fk as that was what I was expecting (A & B to be the same colour).. Yet when I blocked everything else out, A still looked black and B white.

It takes quite a bit to push your brain into stop doing the correcting.

Try squinting, that works well for me. I have loaded it into photoshop, cut them both out and put them side by side and swapped them over. They are indeed the same shade/colour.

Im not sure I want to push my brain into correcting it, incase it gets stuck and my eyes are left fcuked

I genuinely could not and still can not see it without those big grey lines that have been added

its like everyone forgot that the brain is not able to take in everything so makes up most of what you see from past experience.

its like most people would not be able to correctly draw a give way sign, yet most know when we should be giving way and process the information of the give way sign being there.

I saw a tv program ages ago, a man that had not see after the age of 2 was given is sight back after a new operation or something. He had no idea what anything looked like, without feeling its shape he did not know what it was.

The brain takes huge shortcuts to make sure that it can keep up with the amount of information that has be processed, the downside is that those shortcuts can trick it into seeing something that its not actually seeing.

as an idea the brain has to make adjustments to muscles 300 times a second to ensure that we can stand upright, and to do that it has to receive and process the information from your eyes and ears. and that just for standing still, the amount of processing goes up quite quickly when you start walking, and then add in talking to someone while walking, and then add in carrying something heavy with that person.
