So I've given the carbs a good clean and replaced some on the old chewed up jets with new ones and in order to access the pilot jets i have to remove the floats and now I'm finding it very tricky to press them back into there place I'm just wondering if there is a certain nack to doing this? I've attached a photo of what the floats look like if that helps, I'm worried about trying to push them in too hard and breaking them

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Very Happy

Thanks for that however with these carbs the floats are not fixed in by a pin that goes all the way throught the centre, there are 2 "O rings" that need to be pressed in which fixes them into place but also creates a seal they were quite tricky to get out and even more so trying to get them back in

They are a sod, especially with fresh o-rings. Might be worth putting a smear of grease on the o-ring. However remember that the float bowl does push on the tabs either side of the float so it will seat as the float bowl is tightenend down.

I strongly suggest you change all the O-rings and check the condition of the needles as these carbs are very finicky.

This, pretty much. The O-Rings on these are a bastard. Change them whilst you're in there. The float assembly is hard to get in, make sure not to break the tabs. It does take a bit of work to get it to seat properly.
