If a car behind you was full beam, what do you do?
1) pull over and let it go, wait for a while and start again
2) speed up, overtake some cars and go forward
3) do some gesture and let him know he's dazzling you
4) talk to the driver and make him dip the light
5) other

I usually do 1) cause my bike is 125 and slow, can't do 2).

Either #2 if safe to do so, or slow down a lot and make him try overtake, then speed off when we're parallel just for shits and giggles and to make him think "what a cunt".

My bike doesn't have mirrors and the headlight is more of a romantic glow than a useful light, so full beams behind me actually helps me out.

In the car if they keep their full beams on, I hit the little tab under the rear view mirror that deflects most of their beam away from my eyes. No fucks given and I can get on with my life.

I'd hit the switch for the oil slick, crack a one liner as the baddie skids off the road and explodes before continuing to pilot my Aston Martin deeper into The Alps.

If you feel your safety is being compromised, which as you're posting I'm guessing is the case, then #1. Even on a powerful bike I'd go for that if my night vision had been reduced enough (I may not see something and have a collision).

Is bike without mirrors ok in UK?
I do the same on my car. I also fold the wing mirror if it was HIDs in normal bowls Sick
I think I'm a little bit of glaucoma (have higher eye pressure), and became vulnerable to brightness.

Is it really that much of an issue? Sure I've had cars behind me up my arse before with their main beams on but at most all I notice is a bright line through my right mirror out the corner of my eye that I'm aware that they're still their. It doesn't distract me from riding but is in my mind. If anything since my headlight bulb is so pants anyway it probably does me a favour, not that they stay there for long since they get annoyed and speed past me anyway.

What would I do? Putting your choices aside the same as I do all the time, keep my head up and ride as I normally would. Sure having a car up your rear end puts your under a slight bit of pressure but I'm not changing the way I ride and see fit for the conditions because someone behind me wants to take more risks than I do, anyhow that's a little off topic.

1) I wouldn't pull over because as above they end up overtaking where possible as soon as possible anyway, I'm not adding extra time onto my commute or ride because of some arsehole. Also why would you wait for a while once they've gotten past you the glare is no longer effecting you and both you and they are free to continue on your way.

2) Slokpoke tiddler, ney chance.

3) Have tried before but give up after one or two attempts. Just takes my focus of the road and what's going on ahead of me and doesn't get anyone anywhere.

4) No.

I'd say I come across cars not using their headlights more often than I do cars with full beam on.

I'm guessing so. It passes MOTs without it ever being mentioned. There's the threaded holes for them, so it's not as though they weren't there originally. I've just never gotten around to installing them.

Nowadays I find a lot of custom sedans with bright HID lumps + HID fogs which they call "VIP style", and they are crazily dazzling.
I regard such drivers as careless risky drivers, so I'd wait few more cars pass me.
I always wear clip on sunglasses in my car at night.(due to eye pressure), but I don't do it on my bike.

In the car, I reposition the rear view mirror so that the light reflects straight back at 'em. They don't like it and soon dip their beam.

Doesn't bother me on a bike as my mirrors are half full of my arms anyway and I can easily fill the rest Laughing

Wheelie to change the angle of your mirrors?

It is becoming more of an issue due to the number of HIDiots out there.

I've not had any issues with this since I've been wearing my mirror jacket...

6) Pull to the side, let them overtake, and then use your own high beam to blind the fuck out of them via their rear-view mirror.

You know you're doing it right if you can see their silhouette.

I ride a lot of town roads so blasting away is rarely an option for me, primarily on the bike I take the submissive route when faced with idiots in a 2 ton box of steel and plastic.
+1 for let them pass, more than anything I want those morons where I can see them.

You humans, your thinking is so incandescent.

LEDs have given us the power to blind others without being able to see a damn thing ourselves. Truly a brave new world.
