Started a new project at work which is around 6 miles from my house in london.

Looking for a comfortable bike for the next few months. After a quick read through some previous threads, i am under the impression buying second hand is best value.

My knowledge of bicycles is limited. I like the look of this bike below.

Been in contact and price is £250. Can i do better for the money? would this be suitable for my needs?

Any suggestions on alternatives?

Thanks

It'll be a perfectly adequate and particularly tough bike for sure, and going for something simple and rigid is a good move (Although I'm not a fan of triples up front). But that seems exceptionally expensive for what really is just a 20 year old well built but rather unexciting bike that happens to have a nice badge on it.

I got a 2x11 disc brake equipped Boardman Hybrid new for not an awful lot more late last year so I'm pretty sure you could get something both significantly more modern and likely a fair bit quicker on the road than that with a little patience Thumbs Up

Yes you can do better for the money.

Does your work do the 'Cycle to Work' scheme? https://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/
