 |
|
I'm at my wits end trying to find someone to remove/re-fit a bathroom suite and tile the walls. Everyone in my area is either booked up (I need the job finishing before 20th May) or doesn't return calls or fails to show up. Surely there must be someone in or around the Enfield Middlesex area? Recommendations anyone?
UPDATE 20/05/2016
P.M. Heating and General Maintenance Ltd.
Turned up on time.
Provided a proper quote.
Did a great job, on schedule, and to the agreed price.
Left our bathroom looking like a show-home photo shoot.
Cannot fault.

I had this problem too, out of the three people that bothered to pick up the phone, only one could be arsed to turn up and quote. It's mad.
I would recommend him, but he's Bedford based, so Enfield is probably too much of a journey. Can give you his details if you want, he did my floor and it's mint. ____________________ My Flickr |

If I lived closer I'd offer to do it. Tiling is my #1 skill and I've fitted and plumbed in a suite or two as well.
All I'd say is ask to examine your tilers previous jobs, preferably IRL rather than photos. Photos don't show uneven grout
depth/width, or how well tile trims have been lined up and remember that the window reveals also reveal a tilers skill.
Don't skimp on adhesive. I use MAPEI ready mixed showerproof adhesive and it's bob on for bathrooms.
(and a bugger to clean off your tools if you let it set on them)
Make sure your tiler sets up with a laser or battens or you'll regret it later. And finally certain tiles take more skill
to cut than others, avoid natural stone unless you have a VERY good tiler. Sorry I couldn't help more.
If there's anything at all tiling related you want to ask however daft you think it sounds then drop me a PM and I
can probably offer some useful tips. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

We had a plumber years ago that plumbed in the taps wrong in our bathroom, and asked me if it was OK to leave the hot water coming out of blue, and cold out of red. I do it all myself now |

Hi,
Thought I would use this thread for my question,
I am going to fit a blind in the bathroom,
Never drilled into a tile before so any tips?
Use a masonry bit? Have it set to hammer or drill?
What fixings should I use?
Read a tip of using masking tape where I will drill to stop the bit sliding so that will be useful,
As it's only a blind it's pretty light weight also,
I am sure some of you could help with this if you don't mind

Cheers | You'll need a special diamond drill bit made specifically for the job. Your best bet is to phone Topps Tiles, they're experts and very helpful. ____________________ They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa, hey-hey,

I have always used a masonry bit and the masking tape, a) stops sliding and b) you can draw a cross on it!
Didn't go with pilot holes either just straight in.
Don't have the drill on hammer |
