Hello people,
After being off the road a while due to bike being damaged in a hotwire theft attempt, I'm starting to look for a new ride, and I'd still consider 125s for their low running costs for a city commuter. I noticed that some dealers are offering new imported EN125s (though none near my area). I'm a little surprised they're still being imported with all the competition from the market leaders (CBF125, YBR125) and countless non-Japanese brands? I actually like the more conservative styling of the EN125 but the new price isn't much less than official imports and in this case I'd rather pay for a cheap and cheerful Kymco (which I had used to ride).

Why would you even consider an EN125 for £2100/£2200 when NOS 2013/2014 YBRs can be had for £100 more?

Your insurer will ask if it's an "official UK model", which it's not. You could end up losing any saving right there, then you've got resale and parts to worry about.

If you're going to go off-brand, you might as well go as cheap as possible, or indeed Kymco if you want a reasonable expectation of quality and support.

Ha, so I thought! I wonder who bothers with overpriced grey imports. If the dealers were close to my area I may consider asking if they'd give a tempting deal considering the competition, but it's not even the case.
All right, time to keep looking...
