Replacing a side cowling

Bike is a 2015 DL650A - Vstrom.

I'm trying to replace the side cowling (the black plastic part at the front left) however i'm not sure if i need to take off the whole front fairing as it looks like it's still attached?

I've taken off the white suzuki fairing and most of the side cowling (rest in pieces)

and have un screwed every other bit i can see, here's a link to the album:

So i've just had a look at the replacement cowling and there's two bolts that are hidden in the front fairing itself so i assume that they're what's holding it in place.

To get to them though i think i need to take the full front cover off?
