Also with your logic, why not wait 3years and skip 125's to get on an A2 bike that's obviously going to be so much better? |
50ccs are hardly long-distance commuters. If you're getting a 50 to commute, you probably aren't commuting that far. Could probably do it by bicycle.
My guess is his 50cc, and the fact it has to be a "sports bike", is for leisure, because most 16 year olds are at that stage of their life where they're sitting at home wanking or playing on their ps4 all day.
They aren't typically thinking of how they can shave time off their commute to work/school.
Having said that, time isn't a dynamic variable in my recommendation that he should wait a year, so I don't know how you've come to deduce that "by my logic he should wait longer for more bike" - if that's my logic I'd tell him to wait 8 years and do DAS.
It goes without saying that 3 years is a lot longer than 1 year, and getting an A2 license is far more expensive than doing a CBT (which you'd have to do anyway to get the 50cc.) So that example is ridiculous in the first place and doesn't make nearly as much sense as waiting 1 year for a 125cc, but you knew that anyway
A 125cc can do longer distance more comfortably & more than double the speed of a 50cc, and waiting a year means he'll have more money to spend on his 125cc which he's going to upgrade to anyway in a years time. Saving money on an underwhelming 50cc that he'll get bored of in under a year anyway makes more sense in that regard.
What I mean is, waiting a year for a far better option makes more sense and is more cost effective. Waiting [hyperbole]forty years to get an S1000RR[/hyperbole] isn't what I was suggesting in the least. |
