I'm not sure. It felt like cheating on my friends May, Clarkson and Hammond.

It was a little like going to your favourite restaurant and after sitting down, you find out that it's been taken over by new management.

Everything seems the same, but the food tastes different, not bad, just odd.

You leave wondering if you'll be back.

^^ Nail on the head.

I've only watched 10 minutes of it because I was curious but not got the time to watch it all yet.

Seemed very much like they were trying to keep the recipe the same and Evans voice sounded peculiarly like Clarkson's, the way he pitches up and over emphasises things but it didn't have the same delivery at all.

I don't mind Le Blanc, I think he's quite funny but Chris Evans is a gimp. It still looked very watchable though, I bet you in a month or so, nobody will be even talking about it...until the Amazon Prime show starts.

Be interesting to see the viewing figures over the next month Vs. a month after "The Grand Tour" has been on.

It will either be alright for them after 6 months or they'll be thinking about whether or not to waste our money on it for the next season.

Exactly what I feared - Evans basically mimicking how Clarkson did things instead of trying his own thing.

Guest stars section was uter shite, but the track is kinda cool.

Road trip on the motorway was boring and a waste of time. Might as well just have started in Blackpool.

Liked Matt's stuff... but felt like Evans kept a wrap on things to make sure Matt doesn't steal the light.

Didn't thoroughly hate it as I thought.

I don't get why he's trying to do it like Clarkson, when Clarkson is back.

This. I'm sitting here watching the end of it on catch up. I cant say I am not disliking it but I cannot say I am liking it either. I kinda feel soiled watching it because it seems the same as it was only different.

You know what it feels like? A tribute band. A pretty decent one, Sounds like your favourite band, almost looks like them but.... if you listen and look close enough, you can tell it isnt the real thing.

I actually missed a bit of May thumbling around like a well spoken clumsy rambler.

I'll watch both, what else is there to do whilst in a food coma on a Sunday evening?

Jokes were so laboured.

Evans was terrible.

I think Pinky had it right, tribute band. They should have changed the format.

I think it probably needs to evolve into "its own thing"

The Hammond/May/Clarkson vehicle wasn't always exactly in the format it finally became, that which we have come to know and love.

But yeah, Chris Evans is "trying too hard".
He should stick to being annoying over cornflakes.

But I won't write him off yet, cos he is a bit of a petrolhead after all.
He might cover himself in glory at some point later on in the show.

Yep Thumbs Up
Basically Chris spent the entire show giving the audience ques on when to laugh and applaud. But ended up being the only one clapping or getting excited other nothing.

" Wow look at that "
No
" Isn't that brilliant"
No
" Here's Matt Leblanc"
Finally!

Leblanc's dry humour was the best thing about it by far.

Chris Evans just grates Neutral

I thought it was OK too, but it needs to grow in its own direction rather than try to emulate a format that was already getting tired.

Matt looks as though he could be very good, once he's relaxed into the role and made it his own (the scriptwriters should be able to sort this out once they and he have figured out what works for him and what doesn't).

It's definitely better than American Top Gear.

Thinking of which, and other celebrities that appear to be available over here now, maybe they should sack off Evans and bring in The Hoff. He's a car guy, and knows all about advanced automotive technology and high performance driving. Matt even emulated David's regular driving and parking in a moving lorry stunt. I think that's a clue as to the future...

As above. LeBlanc / Sabine best thing about it but then i never really did like that annoying ginger twit - watching him fail to regurgitate Clarkson was not good television.

Almost feels like the beeb gave them a 1001 rulebook of props to use and things to say.

Should have refreshed the format a bit.

If they kept the same format and just changed the presenters, and Evans is a gibbering gimp, then what exactly is he doing to earn the multiple millions that he's raking in? I'm not sure why he deserves any slack at all.
