I can't find any leathers which fit me unfortunately! So I wear textiles / kevlar jeans. If I find a leather jacket that fits in the arms it's about 10 inches too big around the torso!

I only own leathers (ixon 2 piece) which I've never found uncomfortable . I'd be interested to try a set of textiles though to see how they compare.

Kevlar demins for sun.

Leathers for fun.

Cordura textiles for... uh... precipitation.

Hood jeans and leather jacket, because I'm a child of the 80s.

On warm days, a combination of whatever I feel like. On cold or wet days, textiles.

I don't really feel the heat when riding, although I do tend to avoid coming to a dead stop or waiting in traffic more than I would vs in any other weather just because you soon feel the heat.

The ideal situation if you're having to head into a city centre or walk around on a warm day would be to get a topbox and leave your jacket in that and then walk around in a t-shirt / cool thermal layer and kevlar jeans / ankle boots. I walked the distance of a few shops from the bike in full textiles today and roasted like no ones business.

I prefer to use the search function and find the many many threads where this has been discussed before. Do you nod more when wearing leather or textiles?

Personally, I prefer leathers because I find textile trousers to be too slippery on the seat. Textile jacket if it's cold though.

Never had leathers, I mainly use my bike for commuting though and imagine leathers to be a lot less comfortable, would that be the case?

That said I do like the look of some of the old battered leathers some people have.

Exactly! The correct answer is both for all different situations. Nobody only owns one pair of do everything shoes, so why would you not have several sets of motorcycle clothing and protective equipment?

If your not prepared to get all the gear you reasonably need, then GTFO and dont bother swinging your leg over IMO.

It depends, if they fit properly they can be a lot nicer than relatively bulky textile stuff. They also tend to feel better after wearing a few times just like shoes I guess.
The problem I have with leathers is the rarity of half decent jacket pockets for wallet, phone and/or small camera.
But I hate having bulky rustling trousers so usually wear leather bottom and textile top.

As above ideally have both and lightweight waterproofs too.
Consider used stuff on ebay as people get fat or only have a bike for 2 or 3 years then sell gear in like new condition.
Decent leathers will last you 10 or 20 years unless you get fat too - or fall off a lot.

I used to wear Kevlar jeans and aleatory jacket to ride. Since buying some 2 piece leathers they haven't been used since.

Saying that, I don't commute or ride in the wet (usually).
