Hello guys, first time poster here. I have a problem with my first bike I bought, which as the title says is a 125 Suzuki Marauder, it was a non runner but it looked in not too bad shape. I am new to mechanics so I have limited knowledge which is why I'm pleading to you guys for help .
Well the bike won't start. It sounds like it wants to though, like the engine is turning but it won't pop to life. I could maybe upload some videos onto a YouTube link if that would help.
When I bought the bike, it was from a Russian guy with kinda limited English. He told me he suspected it was the carb that was the problem, and that it could apparently be bump started which I've tried and it won't The bike was left outside in the rain for a few months with no cover and I live in Scotland so you can imagine the weather over the winter period.
I'll post so far what I have done to the bike:
Replaced battery (have a charger and multimeter it's always good)
Replaced spark plug
Cleaned out fuel line
Cleaned out carb with electrosonic cleaner
Checked fuel filter
New fuel
Cleaned out air box with air jets from college
Replaced ignition coil (did a spark test and had a very weak spark, now the spark is very visible after replacing)
Engine switch is On
SIdestand is tucked away (I know these bikes have a safety switch)
Ignition is on also
Any help or thoughts of anyone would be a massive help to me, I am a tad reluctant to toss it in a garage as I really want to repair this and get some sense of acheivmemt aha but I am however getting to the point it's probably past my very limited knowledge :/ Apologies for any information that is vital I may have missed to include
Thanks in advance |
