Hi all!

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but as you can probably understand.. I'm slightly upset at the moment as I've had my 50 pack up on my with a split piston while using it as a backup after my brand new, pre 500 miles 2016 125 was crashed into.. and I REALLY need to find the driver involved.

I have FULL CCTV footage which is shown in the YouTube video below.

The damage exceeds £600 and a full tank of fuel which was all over the floor (not so worried about £15 of fuel!)

The DVLA are not being helpful and the police have suggested I speak to the DVLA first as the registered keeper is not the current driver.

Thank you in advanced!

Is it reported as a hit and run?

Ask the pope to have a look on PNC to see who is insured to drive the vehicle as this is often different to the registered keeper and likely the driver.

Edit: Popo, not Pope, although with divine help he might be able to help.

It has been reported as a H&R but most importantly an RTC which holds more water. Police are investigating

Just get the police on the job.

The police have the power to require the registered keeper furnish them with details of the driver at the time of the offence. If he refuses, they do him for failure to furnish.

Why do their job for them. They guy clearly didn't give a fuck when he did it, so why would he pay up now?

EDIT: Blatant stereotyping but I bet the guy is the brother/cousin/nephew of the cars actual owner and I further suggest he's not named on the insurance.

Block of flats? How well do you get on with your neighbours, you could ask if they had that package delivered?
+1 for getting the police to do their job.

Stop messing and allow that person, or the owner of that vehicle, to be fucked by the long dick of the law.

Good luck Thumbs Up

It doesn't matter who was driving. The insurer of that car should pay out to you. They'd have to do so even if the driver has no connection at all to the person who bought the insurance.

Pay the £4 to https://www.askmid.com/askmidenquiry.aspx then add it on to your claim.

Best of luck.

Cars insured by Mulsanne Insurance if that helps. No idea either why you're trying to be nice about it, get your money (which might be difficult as it's) and let the police/insurers sort out which illegal was driving Whistle

So on your vid you are saying that you are not letting the police get involved. Why are you trying to find the driver? Civil action, mate you are lovin in fairytale land, if he wanted to settle. He had three chances to leave his details. He didn't.. he decided that you were not worth the hassle, he's mugged you right off!

He's just driving around in his nice little car and you are walking around with two bikes down and 600 quid lighter in the pocket, you may have more money then me but certainly haven't more sense.. goodluck with your karmatic path my friend.

Phone your insurance, tell them what happened, send them the video. Let them sort it out. It's what you pay for.

They can do the donkey work, you pay premiums for coverage but also for the services in the event of an accident. Most insurers will also give you a hire bike while the claim is being dealt with. They have the experience and contacts to call the right people and get the ball rolling allbeit slowly.

While delaying as long as possible to rape rake in those fat hire bike fees.

The other party is banged to rights, and their insurers should sort it out smartly. BanditsHigh in the Scootch group got slammed from behind last Saturday in a no-injury no-brainer, and the money was in his account on Monday, with an apology for it taking so long.

I've done exactly the same because I know how, the OP has signed up for a bike forum to ask what to do...

Heh, funny story. It never turned up and he's still waiting. Their "systems have been down." Embarassed Rolling Eyes

OP, like the culprit, will surely deliver.

It's always one their kind that hits bikes, they're notorious for it.
