hey guys and Girls,

What would you say is a great all round Dual Sport / Adventure helmet (not a plastic one) Ill be riding around the city mostly, but want one for all year round in London. The Schuberth E1 looks amazing but at over £500 i think its a bit too much. I have an Arai Axces 2 right now, and last summer it was way too hot and putting sunglasses on all the time just annoyed me, especially when going through the Blackwall tunnel! I also have a dark visor but had to carry around the light one as i return home at night alot of the time. SO a drop down sun visor would be ideal too.

So basically -Dual Sport, Drop down sun visor, not plastic is what im after.

Any help would be appreciated. So far ive seen the X-lie X-551 which meets that criteria and the Schuberth E1, and also the Nexx Xd1 (but no actual shops seem to stock it, plus ive heard its too tight on the cheeks)

I'm confused. I don't think I've ever seen a motorcycle helmet made after 1960 that wasn't made of plastic.

I'm struggling to see any part of the ones you've mentioned that isn't made of some sort of plastic.

I've just bought one of these. Not had chance to actually use it yet so can't give a real review but might be of interest.

It sounds like you spend most of your time on the road. Wouldn't you be better off with a road helmet? You'll get more for your money buying an 'all year round' road helmet and a cheap MX helmet for the odd day out IMO.

Givi Tourer x.01? Very light, drop down visor, removeable peak, also the chin bar is removeable too if it gets super hot and you want an open face helmet.

The frank Thomas helmet that omega has is a generic one that can be found on eBay with various brands on it, I got a tuzo one 2 years ago for £50.
M and p have them for that price now

Its OK but noticeably heavy compared to my agv ax8, its also noisy and the peak catches the wind over 70, especially when shoulder checking at motorway speeds
The agv doesn't have the flip down visor but the peak keeps your face pretty shaded anyway.
Bargain ax8 from zee Germans

i've got the AGV AX8 dual sport and love it.

great fit, comfy and field of view is amazing. perhaps the only issue is the peak which at ahem...motorway speeds does tend to cause some uplift if you happen to raise your head too much.
