dont know if anyone has been affected by this, but i have ordered two so called genuine NGK plugs from ebay and both have caused no end of hassle. generally lasted less than ten minutes of running before failing. have since ordered one from wemoto, so hopefully they should be good.
apparently the market has been flooded with chinese copies that are very convincing upto the pakaging being identical.

They are around, it's obviously difficult to tell from an ebay ad if it is a real NGK one or not, especially if bought from a seller who does random stuff and found with the "lowest price inc. P&P" sort order.

It would be interesting to here some more details about how these particular ones failed and if the Wemoto ones (which I'd be pretty confident are genuine) were better (i.e. if it was something else on the bike killing them).

I've had, what I thought was a dodgy copy NGK spark plug ordered from ebay. I ordered a B7HS for a scooter, but then wanted a second as a spare. Two different seller's on ebay. The first plug came back made in France. The other claimed to have been made in Japan- I can't read Japanese so it could have said anything. Both packets were different shades of yellow/orange but both claimed to be B7HS.

Both worked though and couldn't see any visible quality differences maybe they were both genuine. Where are they made?

Have you got any pictures of the plugs as they came out of the bike?

Are they wet/fouled?

Why did you change the plug initially, was it part of a service or was it not sparking?

Can the plug be picked up from a motor factors? I'm buying B8ES/BR8ES/B9ES from a motor factors for less than 2 quid a throw although they are a common/cheap plug.
