Hi all Crying or Very sad

First time bike rider here so be nice if possible....

Hi all I just bought a second-hand mountain bike and I thought I'd join a friendly forum to maybe learn a little about the bike and how to maintain it/upgrade it... et cetera.. It's a bit beaten up but I like it it's a Carrara Vulcan 20 inch men's mountain bike. It has rockshock forks fitted and new cassette but apart from that is quite standard. The frame is a little tatty and I was wondering if it's worth buying a new one for a bike like this, also I think the chain needs replacing I was wondering if this is the job that I could learn to do myself easily. I'm looking at putting a more comfortable seat on it as well, any advice regarding these things or any other general upgrade type advice would be great!

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance if anyone replies..

Buttercreamt....

Hello there Smile

Hilariously you've probably joined the wrong forum on two counts:
1) We're not friendly; honestly, we're not.
2) The cycling forum here is a sub forum of a motorcycling forum so whilst there is some information in there, it's not as active as a forum that focuses on pedal cycles specifically; so you may get more joy from one of those.

Now, f**k off Mr. Green

Good luck with the bike mate - chain is a do at home job as long as you've a reasonable mechanical knowledge and a chain splitter.

Tatty frame; no.
Chain - you can get ones that don't need tools. So just a case of getting the old one off. Should be a five minute job max.
The seat - note that the more you cycle, the more you'll "get used to" a bike seat - however if female, you may want to consider an anatomically designed seat for women.

Who says I'm crying? Because if you get a bit emotional if someone calls something you do out then they're obviously raging? I'm not the one swearing and being all kiddy YOLO about it.

So what gives?

Maybe this will put things into perspective.

Here we see an Olympic sport, watched by millions worldwide, including children:

Yes presumably you googled 'upskirt' and some pictures of athletes arrived at your fingertips, because they're the same thing. If you google male strippers in thongs I'm sure it's almost exactly the same search results as googling mens olympic diving. Totes see your reference and of course it's not in any way designed to justify your argument in some retarded 6 year old way of spakkermong winz teh internetz rationalisation of keyboard warriering.

You presume wrong, for the first picture it was just 'Girl on Bike' and one of the first pics of a female heading away on a bike, which is what I was looking for.

The second one was just 'beach volleyball'.

You should get out more and stop thinking people out to get you.
