I'm looking for some advice on what luggage system/type to look for. I have an 03 plate Hornet, (I know, I've heard all the jokes) does anyone else have one that they use for touring?
The high level exhaust seems to cut down the affordable options.
Any advice gratefully received.

Kriega tail packs are very good, yet to see anyone on here whos got one say they regret it. They're not especially cheap but very good quality and easy to use. Lots of youtube videos of how they're used etc. I make do with a 20L, but i'd go for a 30L in hindsight.

No idea what prices are like currently but getgeared used to work out good value if you ran a quote through the bikeinsurer.co.uk which gave ~15% discount.

Personally I tend to use a tank-bag as well, found this one to be good. Expands big enough to take a full helmet, or can be zipped down to a more reasonable size. Converts into a backpack as well.

Thanks Matt.
I'll have a butchers at those.
I've found that a YBR rack fits the hornet quite well with just a small amount of modification. Have top box, will travel!

Like Matt said, go Kriega Thumbs Up

The US30 is big enough for 2 weeks worth of stuff if you pack sensibly, it's 100% waterproof, top quality materials, and connects solidly to the bike so you get no slipping around.

Liking the look of the 30 litre.
It's not obvious on the website, how exactly does it connect to the subframe?
The big problem I have with luggage for the Hornet is the high level exhaust, otherwise I'd probably just go down the throw over route.
I do like the look of the Kriega tho.
Prices aren't bad either.

I initially did the sub-frame straps on mine, just slung them round anything I could find under the tail area really.

You don't actually need to though. You can just inter-link the straps silver hooks in pairs under the seat rather than hooking them onto the sub-frame straps.

Forgot to add, you also used to be able to get cashback through Quidco via Getgeared, again not sure if it still applies though.

Getting one of those!
