Well I am off on a lads trip to wales next week. For 3 nights I am looking to pop to Ireland, looking to complete the ring of Kerry.

Has anyone camped over there before, and can recommend places?

Was out in Ireland a couple of weeks back and did the Ring of Kerry.
I camped at a place about 20km from Cork just off the main road from Waterford. Pretty sure it was called Longhill. There are brown tourist signs for it, just follow these, you come back on yourself a bit. €10 a night for bike and tent.

Then I camped in Tralee. If you go into Tralee it is sign posted and is the only site in the town. Very good facilities and again €10 a night.
Site is right in the town so you can easily walk back after a few pints of Guinness.

Wild Atlantic way and that part of Ireland has great roads and scenery. Went round the coast from Rosslare to Limerick and the weather was good which always helps. In some places the road surface can be a bit iffy but the UK is like that now anyway.

Hope to go back and do the more Northern coast later in the year.

You should be able to get round a fair bit in 3 days. Enjoy Smile

If you do venture North, there is a super campsite at the Shepherds Rest, Draperstown. Used by a lot of bike touring groups. Central, so a day trip though the Sperrins, into Donegal or North Antrim coast all easily doable.

Campsite is rural, but at a pub & resturant, which is very friendly and serves good food and beer!
