Test up this morning at 11.05, huge thanks to pinky last night sent me some PMs and talked me through alot of stuff appreciate it pal !

One last thing im worried about.

Dual carriageway, max speed 70mph 2 lanes. Can i sit behind a car at 60mph and pass or must i overtake if safe to do so at 70?

If it's safe to do so, I'd overtake (up to 70 of course). That way you won't get marked down for 'making progress' as they call it. If you're on the dually though and your exit is coming up, make sure you have the distance to safely complete the manouvre. Don't panic, relax, Mod 1 is the hardest part, you'll breeze this Thumbs Up

P.S. Don't forget to check over your shoulder when pulling back in after overtaking.

Thanks for the reply. im hella nervous and this is really bugging me.

So up to speed asap, if im approaching a car in the distance plan ahead an change lane early if i can? make sure to mirror signal check shoulder and move over, once i overtake back into left lane. If asked to take a right, stay in the right lane?

and dont do it to close to a roundabout. think thats right.

treat the examiner like a sat nav.
mirror checks
cancel indicator
shoulder checks
hug the kerb at left hand turns
over to the line on right hand turns
take junctions wide but not too wide
plan ahead look ahead espeicallyt meeting and passing, stop in good time if need be

gahhhhhh lol

You sound like you've got it. DVSA Derek, in my case, gave me an indicator that I could have been closer to a kerb on a left turn, he pulled up just past my back wheel on my inside. I made it clear I'd looked in my mirror to see him and nodded - like yeah mate, fair cop, got ya'.

Get up to speed, ride confidently. If you can't make a turn because you feel you haven't done the necessary checks, don't do it.

Just relax. You've got this Thumbs Up

I can't really offer any advice, as I've not done mod 2 yet but, from what I know and has been said already, mod 1 is the trickiest and you've passed that.

Just wanted to wish you good luck as I know how nerves can be a killer. I actually had a victory vomit after passing my mod 1 yesterday. Laughing

Just remember what Pinky told you, he knows what he's talking about. Thumbs Up

Overtook a lorry on the dual carriageway.

came back into the left lane there were cars ahead going around 55/60 the examiner reckons i should of just stayed out and overtook them.

i was too concerned about being to close to the roundabout, i had miles haha !

So there I was this morning relating the story to the boss and they were both stunned at what I was telling them about the poor bastard and the lack of training from his school. Told them about the messages swapped yesterday and the info and sitting at lunch the message game through that the OP had passed.

Everyone at Kickstart and Rosies cafe who heard me shout "YES!" said well done, to you for passing and for me for actually getting the first mod 2 pass without meeting the guy! Laughing

Seriously, I'm glad I was around last night to help out, on the day though, it was all you. Well done buddy.
