So basically live in the countryside and looking for a 125 to get into town during all weathers apart from Snow & Ice. Use the 4x4 for that.
I will have to go off road sometimes because that is just the nature of where i live.

I'm also a fat bugger so the thought of starting off on a YBR 125 makes me think of a Elephant riding a little girls pink bike.

What Semi-Off Road Bikes are decent these days? Heard that Sinnis make a good bike. Sinnis Apache?

sinnis apache or lexmoto adrenaline would be reasonable budget NEW bikes, main difference is apache has aluminium swing arm, adrenaline has steel. both can suffer with usual Chinese steel issues of rusting and occasionally niggly electrics when damp gets in

but they are good value... and the plastics are a lot better than they used to be on the adrenaline

that said, a decent used Honda xl or yammy should be less problems and any bike garage will work on them and around the same price to buy with a longer service interval to

if your handy with the spanners and not bothered about a warranty go for the apache, ( warranty is only valid at registered dealers )

My mate rides a Blade (same as Apache just different wheels) offroad and it does well. Check warranty terms too as when my mate took his in for work they looked horrified at him that he had taken it offroad! Despite it being what it was made for! They did honour the warranty though Smile

For the money of a new Apache you could get something like a tidy XR125 which are decent bikes, although they're not the biggest of bikes and you said in another thread you're a big guy. You could pick up a Varadero for the same money, they're physically big for a 125 and will handle some off road. When I tried one though the rear suspension was quite soft and the bike squatted a bit, I think I was 14 stone at the time. It can be sorted of course but something to bear in mind. Try before you buy is the name of the game Thumbs Up

Unless you're going over big enough rocks/trees/etc to ground out a normal bike, a tall bike is purely for styling.

YBR sounds like a good choice for your needs if you want cheap running.

Older CBR125, but they also look small.
