Just realised that i haven't sent off my NCD proof, or been asked for it from Hastings?

Is that normal these days..

I phoned them an they said my 3 years has been added onto the policy an proof is not required.

Is it on the MIB or something?

I've only been asked for it once in 8 years, and that was early on.

They'll take your word for it up until claim time Thumbs Up

I've not been asked for a while either.

arry was saying that competition regulations stop them from sharing information, but then he's an insurer, he can't be trusted. Wink

Also it'd be OK for the purposes of detecting fraud.

One of the dodgier insurers doesn't ask as a matter of course and then cancels the policy a few weeks later with massive punitive fees to pay.

I'd call them and double check immediately because Hastings doesn't have the best reputation on here.

I've been asked most times, but not realised I've been asked a couple of times, and only noticed when I've received a stroppy letter/e-mail

check the initial bumph they e-mailed to you might include an e-mail address, or some other way of communicating, for you to forward your proof of no claims by a certain day

Just phoned them, they said it all looks good on the policy an no proof is required a this stage.....

Sounds ominous.

I reckon if I was to claim or owt, thats when they would ask for it?

Who's that? A work colleague had trouble with motorcycle-direct (I think that's what they're called). They also want an admin fee to access your policy documents after a certain point.

MCE don't want to see proof of NCD, and I don't recall them asking for it come claim time. Don't understand it personally, you're getting a discounted policy you might not be entitled to, and they won't find out unless you claim.

Where do I send proof of no claims discount?

You can email it to bat@hastingsdirect.com.

If you don’t have access to a scanner you can send us a photo as long as it’s clear and shows the whole document.

You don’t need to send us proof of your no claims discount unless we’ve asked for it.

What does it say in your user area?

Not that I'm saying you should, but if anyone wanted to fake NCD, you could just do this, and make sure you don't claim that year (insure a ped frame or something). The renewal serves as proof of NCD to most insurers. At least it did to us...

Me too. Motorcycle Direct screwed me over, cancelled my policy without informing me leaving me oblivious to being uninsured, all over NCD proof. (The sting in the tail being they were the previous 'years' insurer anyway - but they reckon you should send them their own proof of no claims back!). I will NEVER use Motorcycle Direct again, no matter how cheap they may be and I would advise others not to either.

Why do people still do this, buy whats required, if they don't hassle you, don't call them Rolling Eyes

I've never been asked for NCB on bike, so much so I reckon I could say I've got 8 and they'll give me 9 next year.

The majority of my spam goes to MotorcycleDirect@mydomain.com, and you can bet that I ticked the "no spam" button when I made the mistake of giving them that email address years ago.

They're unethical spammers and it wouldn't surprise me to find out that they're scammers as well.

I'm with Bennet's, they almost cancelled my policy has wouldn't accept my proof, I asked them to call my old insurer, and they advised they was not allowed. Then after I managed to get a copy they didn't receive it, so I called to check and, they said as the policy was due to be cancelled within 48hrs they can phone my old insurer!

I told them I asked for this, and they said, they are not normally allowed too, unless the insurance is going to be cancelled! Middle Finger Neutral

I've been asked to provide PoNCD for every new broker I've used.
Not everyone loves MCN I think. Sad
