oh, I already have spent my money on a triumph and don't get a factory tour, I am disappointed.

heck I would settle for someone else paying the extortionate labour costs for my next service.

I went for an interview for an IT support job at the Hinckley factory a few years ago. The car park was full of big German cars and the building filled with suits and sickening aspirational marketing. As someone who hacks about predominantly on a rusty CB250 and views bikes as transport I was appalled. However, seeing how hardly anyone at Triumph would use a bike for a such a mundane task as getting from A to B makes the bikes they design suddenly make a lot more sense. You're not supposed to use them in the rain, or the salt, or clock high miles, or use it at all. You're supposed to pose like David Beckham with it while wearing your new Triumph branded jacket!

I now commute right past the factory, funnily enough the 8-10 bikes that leave there during the summer dwindles to 2 or 3 in the autumn/winter/spring.. And the ones used all year round are older Japanese bikes Laughing

Strangely I was not asked back for a second interview Thinking

Oh and the factory tour is pretty boring, just a few blokes bolting bits together with air tools on a conveyor belt thing. It must be an awful job, they're always advertising for it..

Funny you should mention that, a lot of the staff at my nearest Triumph dealer have Jap bikes. Here's the bio of the proprietor of my local Triumph dealer. Before they changed it I'm sure it said his fav bike was a 'Busa Laughing Doesn't give you much faith in the brand!
