So i have just took delivery of a zxr750L to make into a trackday bike. Its an insursnce write off due to plastics damage etc.
Rear tyre needs replacing so im just wondering what are peoples recommendations for tyres for wet and dry track. I cant afford a spare set of wheels yet so must be good in all conditions. I havent done a track day before so not going to be setting the world alight straight off im sure.

Start on a sports touring tyre if you're starting off on track, they're be able to handle the wet adequately. For example, Ron Haslam's race school use Bridgestone T30 tyres and I was doing sub 2 minute laps which isn't bad.

Metzeler M7RR should do you fine.

Although personally, I'd just buy Supercorsa scrubs for the dry (£50-£70) and buy used wets. There's a lot for sale circulating on the FB track day pages Thumbs Up

You can then get your tyres changed at track or just buy an Abba kit to change your tyres yourself, it's really easy to do and a good investment in my opinion. This is the kit I use clicky.

You'll get to try them out yourself then Thumbs Up

I have the Metzler M7RR on my road bike and would have no problem using them on a TD. I was riding in the rain today in fact with ease. I would say they're equivalent to the Bridgestone S20, so the sports version of the T20
