Does anyone else find van drivers (among others) are the most likely to try and run you off the road and kill you for filtering at traffic lights?

Annoyed after my latest experience this morning where he tried to squeeze me into a row of stationary traffic, I decided to open the throttle to make space and then he tailgated me for a while. Through the junction I then decided to slow down a bit and I think that made him even angrier Middle Finger

I've found bus and taxi drivers to be worse in my experience. Lorry and van driver's usually move over to let me past.

It's because they are angry as they do the same job as a lorry driver for less money

I've only even been rebuked for "illegal queue jumping" by a van man. Well, actually his passenger. Who was of course smoking ayyy faaag.

How guilty I must have felt.

It's no biggie, they're just setting the world to rights between jobs from their vinyl covered thrones. Like sort of fat, red faced Bat...mans? Batmen?

I've found van drivers to be good at moving while filtering

Bmw drivers however.......

Oh and the sporty hatch vehicles who will purposefully drive an inch from the guy in front of them so that you can't nip in if you need to.

Van driving standards are abysmal (I'm one myself). I'd like to see a separate license category, maybe 2000kg plus so you'd filter out the Chelsea tractors at the same time Twisted Evil

I think the attitude comes from dealing with all the fucktards on the road all day, driving jobs make you miserable, that's why it's always the cabbies, bus drivers, (motor)cycle couriers, van drivers, truckers that are the biggest c**ts.

Of course seeing you filter past whilst they sit in traffic always enrages cagers Wink

I have had van drivers deliberately pull over to cut me off, once almost forcing me over into the path of an oncoming bus. Similarly they regularly give me a cheery wave of the fist.

I think a large number of them are completely fine and competent drivers but the small minority are so horrifically inept (but think that are great and everyone else is dangerous) that their shitty driving supersedes the others.

I've never had an issue with vans to be honest, it's mainly cars that I found can be a pain.

Minicabbers are the worst. I assume they're just pissed/facebooking. No one can be that crap at driving.

I'm another fucking van driver as part of my job, so see both the good and bad ones. I in main agree with M.C though about another licence would be a good move for them. I drive 3-5ton gross vans and occasionally a 7.5ton, but it's never much over 6tons, due to needing to tow sometimes as well.

I and many other van drivers do move right over into the gutter in traffic for bikes to come past in queues. We want you to get past as you can make progress whilst we can't, and I enjoy seeing good riding and confident considerate filtering too. I don't like bikes or cycles coming up on the left between me and the kurb, so I'd make more space between lanes and leave none on the nearside if possible.

I do think if we are picking out other road users, bikers have far worse problems than van drivers though. Add to that it's usually on the motorways where van driving standards go to shit, and I don't do 70mph+ bike filtering on motorways so it don't concern me anyway.

Tonight a Toyota SUV was the cunt that sat in the outside lane an inch from the road centre line with 3foot to his right, to stop a big IL4 tourer coming past.

The worst drivers are Micra's in East London. One pulled out on me the other day, then proceeded to swing out left for every right hand corner, mounting the curb at one point and nearly hitting loads of parked cars.

Seen two cyclists hit by Micra's as well (inb4 can't be that bad then). If you see one run!!!

Yeah, I'm a white van man too. I also leave plenty of room for bikes to filter past and am always on the lookout for bikes, I am also a biker after all. MY main gripe is mini cab drivers, I am sure they have their own highway code books! Rolling Eyes

I don't think sporty hatch drivers need to be on the list. They're entertaining as they practice their GP set off at every traffic light and ragerace when it turns out their 1.2 isn't the fastest thing on the road.

But mostly, just like normal car drivers with less risk of holding you up and added bonus of potential hilarious fuck ups.
