Was rear ended on Monday at a zebra crossing by a white van. Felt fine on the day and was absolutely fine when reporting the incident but now feel terrible. I feel like I've played a game of rugby while being pummelled by David Haye.

How long after a claim can I amend my 'injury' claim? I don't expect to get much but... ow.

Also, what's with being rear-ended? This is the 3rd time in 5 years I've been rear-ended in London, stationary in traffic. The last one was at a queue at a set of lights and prior to that, I was in a car when a black taxi went sailing into the back of me. Cue car drivers getting out of vehicles with their phone in hand, mid-text...

Probably varies mate but tbh your probably be ok if you call them and tell them your backs started giving you trouble.
As far as i know you can amend the claim right up to the point you sign off on repairs/ write off check etc and they close the file.

Give them a ring, and if you get no joy im sure should you feel the need there are thousands of ambulance chaser types will be quite happy to take it on instead.

Get well soon Thumbs Up

Have you got specific pain? If its just general aches that'll go, the problem can be trying to work out if you've done something more serious.

Crash before Christmas left me sore for a couple of days but I was fine. Crash in 2014 I've still not fully recovered from Confused Any back or joint pain I'd be extremely careful with.

The statute of limitations for personal injuries is three years.

I'd call the claim handler/solicitor them know so they can start the claim.

Don't go to A and E. They're busy enough as it is. See your doctor.

Limitation period is 3 years dude - plenty of time Laughing

Make contact with the third party insurer rather than go through the parasites. You'll need medical evidence so a trip to doctors is on cards as a minimum. You may also be offered rehabilitation physio and the like by the insurer to get you better sooner, which of course should be your ultimate goal.

I say again for clarity - don't feed the ambulance chasing Jeremy Kyle daytime TV advertising halfwits that'll sting anyone they deal with multiple hundreds of quids for writing standard letters - deal direct and if you don't get any joy then feel free to get some representation - but make sure it's good quality representation.

It was a week after my rear-ending that I realised I had done some proper damage. Went out in my summer gloves, got piss wet through, put hand around a coffee cup to warm up and just opening my hand out to get around cup was enough for me to to drop coffee and decide it was the most painful thing ever. Straight to minor injury centre. Much pain and phisio ensued. Personal injury claim was straightforward. That said the claims monky sent me a "symptoms of whiplash" sheet which was very clear that symptoms may not start until weeks after. I think they were peeved that I didn't fake whiplash. Thumb was worth some.
