Arrggghhhh

Mod 1 passed - straight on to mod 2 - 1 minute from returning to test centre and stalled at a roundabout. Crossed the line so failed. Fair enough - my own flaming fault. He said everything else was ok😥 Gutted. I can't remember the last time I stalled!

I assume you mean one minuate from setting out for your Module 2 after returning from Module 1, right?

Can't say I've heard of a similar failing before, sounds like bs to me, result is result though so another test it is, examiners always right and all that lark (coughs). Still, despite the fee that's heading your way for another test at least you now what you've got to come and that's 99% of the build up out the way, ride around as you did on your first attempt and should be fine as you've been told. No one gets everything right %100 every ride and even I make mistakes on the same old commute I've rode back and forth god knows how many times before, shame small mistakes cost.

Out of interest what was the actual fail for, the stalling? A serious fault just for that? Can tell it wasn't dangerous since you would have been left at road side and no mention of minors build up, so serious? Hmm.. I always thought that it was more about how you recover from a stall on a test rather than a stall causing a fail. Then again you said you ended up over the markings, how far we talking, like front wheel slightly over or half a bike into on coming traffic?

Best of luck for next time.

Was 35 mins into mod 2 at the last roundabout before returning to test centre. I stalled pulling onto roundabout which caused cars coming round to have to move out to avoid me. When he said I failed - he said it was that that did it - nothing else of note other that watch speed a bit more closely. Basically looks like I was one minute from a pass based on the feedback and fail certificate.

At least you know you'll smash it next time. What's the wait, 10 days?

Good job on the Mod 1.

Have at it again for mod 2...

10 days might be the minimum, but I doubt you'll get a test in anywhere near that timeframe. Round here the waiting time for Mod 2 is well over a month.

You looking to book the test yourself or through a school?

DVSA booking website wont show all the available slots because training schools bulk buy them, first come first serve, money talks. Then it depends on what school you go with as to how soon or how long you have to wait dependant on the way they do their training / tests schedule and many more factors.

I'd say tis the season for popular demand but isn't it always?

educate me...whats the deal with failing for a stall then?

Is it a safety thing?

for me, stalling shouldnt be a fail, its not as if you've made a dangerous maneuvre. you see drivers stalling all the time, as long as its dealt with correctly then i dont see a problem.

Yes. I restarted- did all my safety routine - but had crossed the line and was causing other drivers a bit of hassle - not much hassle right enough, but I knew I had failed when I was over the line. Harsh but no argument from me. I am taking the positives - got mod 1 and good enough (nearly) for mod 2

You will be fine next time. BTW no need to stop at round abouts if you look way ahead and plan to get there when there is a gap. That will happen if you not hurry too much.

stalling/stopping ON a roundabout is a definite fail (with vehicles having to change course directly related to your actions also), it was probably nerves, just be sure to keep more revs on before letting the clutch out. You'll nail it next time by the sounds of it.
