The wife decided she wanted her own bike after me going out daily on the Enfield. As she is 5'4" she went for a GPZ 500, this annoyed me somewhat as I'd just sold mine a month or so back; she could have had that.

We found a good example BUT the sight glass for the oil is misty, is there anyway if you do an oil change to pop the sight glass out and give it a clean? or is it take the whole clutch cover off and re-seat with new gasket and wipe it that way?

Bike is a real belter. Runs perfectly and only 2 owners from new, L reg 1994. The sight glass has just took the shine off it somewhat.

Hi

Quite look at the part listing shows it as a separate part (only about £8), and suggests it is from the outside.

All the best

Katy

Have you tried using a heat gun on it to see if it clears? It can take time but I've done this successfully before. Careful not to overheat the seal - shortish bursts of heat to get the glass hot with a rest between usually work.

are you sure its misty? condensation builds up in the inside of mine. a quick blast to get the oil hot fixes it.. until the engine cools down again at which point it happens again

If you're sure it's just condensation, forget it.

You can take the clutch cover off and clean it. But removing the remains of the old gasket may be more trouble than it's worth. Wink
