TVS Akula 310

A new small displacement sports motorcycle from TVS, India. Not that long ago, TVS cooperated with BMW on development of the new BMW G310R (available in Europe this autumn). The article suggests that this cooperation might going to lead to a EURO spec TVS Akula 310, since the engine used in the Akula is supposed to be based on the G310R engine.

Not much of info, yet. All we know is, the carbon fiber composite fairings are going to be avalible only on the limited edition version, the rest will come with standard ''plastic'' fairings, and that the TVS is going to start the production next year.

Hmm. We can't see too much under the plastics, but the forks, wheels and shock look verrry similar to the BMW. The frame is constructed differently, but the geometry looks the same.

My working assumption would be that they just cloned it with enough enough differences to satisfy the Hun, then bolted on some plastics and a different rear subframe.

As always, the bike and the prices won't really matter if they don't invest in a distribution chain and just resell through the usual suspects next to a bunch of Lexmotos and Hyosungs and whatever other marques they're lackadaisically flogging this week.

I suppose it has gill vents so that's OK then.

Isn't Beemers version of that engine woefully underpowered? So this bike is likely all show no go.
