My GSXR 600 K9 has a termignoni slip on fitted by the previous owner. There are two problems with it; the cat has not been removed therefore it only sounds marginally better than stock, and the pillion pegs needed to be removed to attach the bracket, therefore I can't take pillions.

Im planning on removing the cat and getting another can, maybe a Yoshimura or Akro.

I remember reading a guide on how to remove the cat on a GSXR forum a year or so ago. Spent ages looking for it but can't find it again. From what I can remember, it goes something like:

1. Remove the cat
2. Install 06/07 header
3. Install can
4. Remap

Is there anything more I need to know?

And by not remapping, will I notice any difference in fuel consumption or power delivery?

Thanks Smile

Took a few days but found it in the end. Here's the GSXR K8 exhaust swap guide for future reference Smile

I did this with my K8 750 and used that same guide. Considering I don't even know how to change brake pads, it was pretty straight forward, just time consuming.
