 |

Hi guys I've a feeling my FZR400 3TJ engine has gone kaput as it won't start or even sound like it wants to start, I've a spark and a new set of plugs also cleaned out the carbs and tried using easy start sprayed into the airbox and I'm getting nothing, manually opened the exup valve to try and get a rough idea on compression and it feels like not much is really coming out of the exhaust so i think I'm going to put it down to lack of compression for what ever reason as I'm not really clued up when it comes to valves etc, I've been looking around and seen a lot of people do a 600cc conversion either with a FZR600 engine of a YZF600 engine but i can't imagine it would be as simple as removing one engine and fitting another? does anyone have any insight as to what is involved i.e modifying engine mounts and the wiring loom? 2 things of which i may not be able to do my self! opinions please!
Thanks in advance |

I have read about this.
From memory, You'll need Engine, Loom, CDI, Carbs, Airbox, Exhaust modified to fit.
Think it's about 5mm of engine mounts on frame to fit and if you're using the standard airbox the tank needs modified for the larger airbox to fit under it.
400Greybikes is a great place for 400cc bikes and all things done.
If you do this and want rid of the engine or the inlet manifolds PM me ____________________ Honda CBR-RW6 (Sold) - Kawasaki GPZ500s (Sold) - Honda CG125 (Project) - Honda CB750 Cafe racer (Project) - Yamaha FZR400RR |
