Ok, when I moved here I had a totally blonde moment and sent in the white part of my V5 instead of the blue part........I have the blue part in an envelope now and once I find my stamps I will be sorting it out...BUT ....in the meantime, as my vehicle is now registered as having been sold to a dealer, If I were to get caught for speeding.....Could they do me? Or have I accidently found the ultimate way of getting away with speeding????

They could do you for speeding and not sending in the change of details to the DVLA... Sad

... provided they could track you down of course!

But since the dealer wouldn't be keen to pay your speeding fine, I dare say they'd rush to pass on your address.

Speeding fine + up to a £1000 for not keeping the DVLA up to date (although doubt they would really fine you that much)

Hmm, the DVLA love the smell of money, e.g. paying £7 to have my stolen tax disc replaced. I know it's peanuts really, but my 12 month disc costs £15 in the first place - that's nearly 6 months of riding!!

I bet they will fine you, but I reckon the £1000 figure is just to scare you into doing what they want Smile

hmmm they would struggle to get the money from not letting them know cos I did let them know - i soke to some one before I sent in what I did and the guy told me to send the part in that I had. there was a cover letter with the part I sent explaining the situation. they chose to misunderstand it !

oh well it was a nice idea though hehehe!
