Weve been pretty lucky with whales recently, Orcas and now Hump backs.

The lady who took these photos off the beach near me says I should get there about an hour after high tide if I want to see this. taking the grandkiddies later un the hope we get a similar display.

Nice, at best I've seen Dolphins in real life and that wasn't around the British coast.

Some people were trying to scare some Dolphins away from a local coast a couple of years back though, didn't see anything however.

(I say scare as that was what I was told, seemed to have the support of the local coastguard, may have been worried about beaching.)

Next say there were basking sharks but we missed them

asked the boss if I can leave early so i can pick the grandkids up from after school club. best time is between 5 and 6pm ish so hope the blighter hasnt buggered off. Dolphins are pretty much every day thing but Orcas and big whales are still pinging high on my novelty rating.

Will post pics if I get any.

Crikey - I had exactly the same experience! Pasty and all! We were in the terraced garden at the time, could see three of them really clearly jumping about like flipper in front of a boat in the bay. Cool

There's regular sightings of Basking Sharks around three Isle of Man. It's quite surprising how close to the shore they can get.
