Ive swapped my pajero for a 2007 renault kangoo

Coming form 18mpg to 50 is awesome BUT

Ive done 118 miles and the fuel indicator has only moved one bar , this seems to good be to true.

Is there anyway to tell if the fuel gage is dodgy because i dont want to be running out of diesel Smile

its the 1,5dci if that helps

Had one for 4 years. Very frugal engine if you drive like a berk, super frugal if you take it steady.
I used to be able to fill up in bristol and drive to East London at 80 odd mph with a large roofrack permanently fitted
and still only use quarter of a tank. I miss my Kangoo. I paid 700 quid for my 2003 1.5dci.
The 2tonne 2.2dci remapped sprinter I now have is somewhat thirstier, lots heavier, lots taller but still faster Laughing

You could always go and fill it up to see how much it's used.

A quick Google says it's got a 50 litre fuel tank (which is 11 gallons) so once you fill up you can do some sums.

Another quick Google says that 50mpg isn't impossible.

I'd say 60mpg is do able if you lose the roofrack and stick to 55mph in 5th for a time. All I would say is that while they
are teriffic when they are empty, they do bog down A LOT with some weight on.

FUN FACT!

Because a Kangoo is a van-derived car, it is susceptible to van rules. This means national speed limit is 50mph, or 60 on a dual carriageway.

I would expect that you, as every van driver, will be sticking to these limits in the interest of the the safety of all the kittens.

Yeah, I deffo follow those rules... Laughing
It counts more at things like toll bridges and why its currently £13.20 to drive a Kangoo across to Wales (for
some reason) I would pay the same for the my Sprinter.

My combo v5 says the body type is car derived van and the gross weight is under 2000kg so I was under the impression that it would be subject to car speed limits. Is the kangoo different or am I just wrong?

A car derived van.
However. A transit connect is also classified as car derived. It doesn't seem to have a car like counterpart.

Here's the official list

If it's just torn material then the bay has loads of cheap seat covers. If it's the foam or structure then it shouldn't be expensive or difficult to get a 2nd hand one.
