help my bikes dying (kieth help)

I dont know if any of you remember but about a month ago my bike wouldn't start for ages. It went to a garage 4 a weekbut the cunts didn't know what was wrong with it so they just cleaned the carb and it worked. Anyway i got it back and it was fine. On a nice sunday i went for a blast and half way through everytime i stop and pulled the clutch in and the rev would just die the same thing would happen when it was in neutral so basically the idle thing was fucked, anyway i thighted the screw in the carb now it'll idle at about 3500 revs or itll die again whats wrong. Kieth i know youll have some idea. thanks

sounds similar to a problem I had when my float-valve stuck. My bike would refuse to idle (this was all in one journey), was spluttery at low speeds. the stuck valve was forcing too much fuel through the carb- and out of the pipe at the bottom of the bike. if ytour was leaking fuel, you'd know, but over-fuelling may have something to do with your problem...

ve got a restricted imported NSRR 2000 modle. If i put an arrow exhaust on it will it make it go any faster and would i have to change anythink on my bike eg carborator ect.

Difficult to say. If they cleaned the carb out and it was fine, then maybe you have had some crap petrol which is blocking the jets up (I had some in a car once that managed to block a large fuel filter in 4000 miles).

If the floats are sticking then the carb would overflow. This is likely to leave you with a puddle of petrol under the bike when parked, and would also flood the engine (had this happen where the bike would not turn over because the cylinder was FULL of petrol).

There are 2 adjusters on the carb. One is the idle speed. This is easy, and just adjusts the stop on the slide in the carb. Screw it in and the revs go up, undo and the revs go down. The other is the idle mixture adjustment, and depending on whether this is an air adjustment screw or a mixture adjustment screw will work differenrtly. Make sure you have adjusted the correct one, and check the mixture screw is set correctly
