Hi All

So, whilst I still intend on doing my Mod 1 and 2 in 2-3 months time I have decided that I will start off on a smaller bike first to gain some experience/confidence and then upgrade the bike later to the 'dream machine' in 6-9 months time.

I am doing my CBT this weekend and for my first bike I have my eye on a Keeway RKV125 as relatively cheap, reasonably good looking bike and I won't cry if I drop it in my first few months of learning.

Only issue, is I keep reading that the stock tyres are rubbish in wet weather which obviously for the UK and winter riding is a big issue. So, I'd like to get these replaced straight away as don't want to find out they're rubbish the hard way!

What is the best way of sourcing, knowing which replacement tyres to go for so I can specify what I want and get these fitted at the garage before I even collect the new bike? safety takes priority over price (within reason) so want something that will do the job in the wet.

Many thanks

Can you show three examples, from actual owners?

Random commentards said the same thing about the tyres on my HN125. "More nylon than rubber on them Chinky hoops, mate, ditchfinders for sure". Yet I rode it through three winters without incident and passed my Mod 2 with the roads covered in snow and slush.

CBT Arrow bike Arrow then worry about pimping it.

Are you really planning to buy a new one 'for 6-9 months'?
Or are you expecting a used one to still have the original tyres on it?

What sizes are they?
