Anyone interested in this?

After some pretty shoddy F1 games from Codemasters it looks like they finally might have pulled their finger out with this one.

There was a small number of BCF'ers playing in an online championship a few years back but I think this version actually supports multiplayer online championships.

I used to enjoy career mode on either 2013/2014 but then when 2015 came out and changed it all up the game became pointless and was shoddy anyway so I never did bother investing. I think the time gap between having played the old-er games and now puts me of and have zero interest at current. Plus either I'm getting old or tight as fudge but forty quid isn't exactly cheap to take a punt on so if it does tickle me pickle at a latter date then I'd rather watch plenty of videos and release bugs ironed out before I do.

Online was always poor on whatever version I previously tried so seems like nothings changed.

I agree with previous versions being bad, I haven't played one since 2011 or 2012 I think it was. Also, I agree with the online being rubbish but then that goes for the majority of racing games, unless you are playing in a private lobby with friends the races become a demolition derby.

I think this year the emphasis is on the career mod and from what I've seen also on doing longer races as tyre strategy seems a big part of things. Encouragingly, some copies have been dished out to some Youtube type people who have been playing the game and putting videos up, from what I've seen it looks very hopeful.

With previous versions Codemasters released very little about the games before they were released, a video here and there, definitely no copies handed out, I suspect mainly due to the games being flawed. I'm guessing that they have more confidence in the game this year.

I won't preorder but will see how things pan out and get actual user's reviews before shelling out the money.

F12015 was very buggy when it came out, but they patched it (numerous times), and its actually a half decent game its just there isn't much to do. F12012 was good IMO and 2013 with the classic content.

I dunno about 2016, I definitely won't get it on launch, might do if/when it comes down in price. Assetto Corsa's out on consoles at the end of this month, they have a couple of Ferrari F1 cars as dlc, much better physics than the codies games.

I've got Project Cars and probably will pick up Asseto Corsa but sometimes I can't be arsed to get my wheel out and want a game I can pick up and have a quick blast.

I think if I'd bought the more recent F1 games from Codemasters I'd be thinking about skipping this one. I'm hoping they've nailed the tyre strategy part to this, form the bit's I've seen on Youtube it's looking promising.

Not tried this but I tried Dirt Rally a little while back and I think I'd be correct in saying that you really do need a wheel and all that shenanigans to fully enjoy these types of racing game?

I bought Dirt Rally, cracking little game but incredibly hard to use with a pad, could hardly drive in a straight line. Until I turned the sensitivity right down and then it behaved like a normal game. And I mean right down, think to about 10 or 15%.

F1 is not a sim and should be fine with a pad.

I might get this eventually but it still looks like simcade shit all the way.

why can't they have a pro physics mode like other games do? ( motogp for example and other pc racing 'sims' have had this option in the past )

The career mode shit doesn't bother me, thats for kids who want to play as nico rosberg so they can choke whenever racing occurs. infact offline racing is only good for seeing how good the games damage model is and in previous games, seeing how badly the tyre wear was scripted to hell.

I'm on project cars at the minute, i run a league with it which is good fun but it's getting tricky to find enough people and i'm sure when GT sports is released everyone will forget about pcars, it isn't perfect but it's probably the best of a bad bunch at the mo

I didn't get dirt rally working properly with my wheel either. As Joe says F1 will be fine with a pad.

I didn't get into pcars, physics were too meh and loads of bugs when I got it (they seem to have fixed most of them). Assetto Corsa is my sim ATM, but I'm not massively into it. Too many GT3 cars Smile

OK, I'm an idiot, I preordered F1 despite promising never to do that again - I'm off work and needed a break from decorating.....

So far, it's bloody good. The handling model is pretty basic but interesting enough, currently learning to not hammer my tyres and killing them early.

Whether or not it has the depth to keep me interested only time will tell but I'm enjoying it so far.

I only race online with people from my league and it's quite rare we get a bug now that interrupts our race. It suffers from a similar issue to AC though, everyone is obsessed with the GT3 cars, i did a season with them in a different league and by the end of it i was sick to fucking death of them, give me open wheelers any day thanks.

I'm going to have to have a think about F1 2016, for me it all depends on the general physics, tyre model and how good online ism, for the past few games all of the above have been complete garbage
