I've been looking for a road legal enduro bike for ages, and viewed a couple. Within my budget most were knackered and pretty tired looking. Ended up with this, one year old and 160 miles on the clock.

Has a few extras, new AC10's, 15.5l Acerbis tank (standard fitted at the moment) full yoshimura system, renthal chain and sprockets, kriega grab handles and a toolbag.

Quite pleased with it, build quality is very good indeed, it's pretty quick and powerful, if a little maintenance heavy being a 450 4 stroke.

Yep.

So far, apart from the carb, everything has been identical to that of the CRF450 Haynes manual.

I've got a CRF clutch case on the way, because it was £10 on eBay and I don't like the WK casting. /tart

A friend bought a brand new 250 version and he had no end of problems with it.

The wheel spokes were too light weight, loosened off and elongated the holes in the rim within 500 miles.

The rear shock seized the rebound adjuster and not long after the shaft seal blew and lost all of the damping oil.

The front forks locked solid within 2000 miles.

The engine oil pump seized within 1000 miles and wrote off the engine.

But because it was sold as a competition machine there was no warranty Brick Wall

There are a lot of horror stories about Chinese bikes. I look after my bikes well, and I've ridden a Chinese c90 through the Sahara desert, and done a few seasons racing on a Stomp supermoto. This is vastly better built than either of those, so we'll see.

The spokes on this one are pretty substantial, and suspension is Kayaba.

If it wasn't for the casing it'd be hard to tell it from the Honda.

That looks really good, fair play. Is the frame a proper ally job? Do you mind divulging the purchase cost? Just curious how much they depreciate by, it would make a good winter bike and mountain tool for me...

I bet I'd break myself in half off-road riding though...

Yes, ally frame. It's circa 43bhp and 117kg, though I think I've lost a few pounds ditching the standard heavy system (incl. cat) and the emissions bollocks, which was half a kg alone.

Bear in mind that it's not a road bike. Oils (separate engine and gearbox) I'll be changing every couple of hundred miles.

I'll pm you what I paid.

Today amongst pissing about the the zx9r, I put it back to its original ride height. The previous owner was short, and I'm not, so I took the rear shock out and wound the adjusters back to standard, and pulled the forks back through the yokes. Thumbs Up

Yes mate, what are you riding? I'm in Southampton, but another mate of mine has just bought a 250EXC, and has a van, so can travel a bit.

In other news, white front mudguard because it was A, cheap and B, tart.

Very nice looking bike Garth!

Having spent a couple of years keeping an eye on ebay and gumtree for XR400's or WR450's and disappointed with the age/price, I'm interested to see how you get on!

WK don't sell the Enduro any more do they?

How did you find this one?

I'd be up for a Hampshire meet sometime.

I live in Bedford, but I ride down that way a lot to visit my dad who lives near Fareham. Have to be on my CRF250L though

They don't - rumours of some copyright claim. Laughing

I found it by having a saved search on eBay. I was interested when they were available new but didn't have the money. Didn't really have the money for this either, but thought why not. I almost bought a 2 stroke KTM, but after a test ride decided the engine wasn't really what I wanted for green lanes, it wasn't too happy off the pipe.
