Now behave boys.
Hubby has his mod 2 next week. If all goes well, he’s obviously not going to be content bimbling around on his Gilera Cougar. He doesn’t want another cruiser. So far he’s sat on a V-strom and a Versys. He prefers the Versys of the 2 - and it’s what he did Mod 1 on.
He is not a speed freak and just wants comfort, being seated upright and capable of keeping up with traffic on motorways. He’s a weekend rider and will never do more than about 100 miles in a day.
What other upright position bikes are there? He’s sort of got his heart set on a Versys – but I’m trying to get him to take the advice that you guys always give newbies – and go sit on a few different ones. He’s a typical man though and doesn’t like talking to strangers to ask advice. So I want to send him out with a list and say ‘go sit on these’. I need to supervise him, or I know he'll go to the dealer and come out with a new Versys, without looking around.
Cheers. |

Plug his vitals into this, and it'll give you an indication of seating position :-

It's not spot on accurate, but I find it pretty close. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

Thanks, but woah. So many bikes. We know bugger all about bikes. Could do with a few names of ones to click on. Proper names too, if possible. It took a while on Google, for example to work out what a 'divvy' was. We're too new to know the nick names.
I don't know if it will make a difference to recommendations but he's 6ft4 with 34 leg. He doesn't want to look like a grasshopper with knees up by his ears. That site will definitely help narrow it down. |

I'm the same dimensions. Get him to ride a Triumph Tiger, he'll be riding a damn site more than 100 miles at the weekend. |

What price range?
Upright bikes can be adventure or naked types. Go to https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bikes/motorbikes-for-sale and in the dropdown that says 'Type' pick one, shuffle through a few and see what pops up, repeat with a few of the categories. Draw up a list, find local dealers with versions of those bikes. Look, sit. He wont be able to take any of them out but he can at least get a feel for them. ____________________ Honda CBF125 ➝ NC700X
